Spirit Release Therapy offers a unique approach to understanding and treating conditions that traditional therapy methods may struggle to address. While the idea of spirit possession was once viewed through the lens of superstition, contemporary research and practice have revived interest in this powerful therapeutic modality. Building on the work of early pioneers, Spirit Release Therapy integrates modern psychotherapy with spiritual understanding, offering a holistic approach to healing.
Historically, the belief that mental illness could be caused by possessing spirits was common until the rise of scientific rationalism in the eighteenth century. Psychiatric practices, emerging from this Enlightenment period, replaced religious exorcism, pushing the idea of spirits into the realms of folklore. Yet, throughout the twentieth century, influential figures in mental health and psychotherapy began to reconsider these age-old concepts. Notably, Carl Jung engaged with spirits and their unresolved energies, offering insights into the potential role of spirits in human psychology. He wrote about the souls of the deceased, saying, “The souls of the dead ‘know’ only what they knew at the moment of death, and nothing beyond that,” suggesting that these spirits could impact the living in profound ways.
Spirit Release Therapy is not just a therapeutic tool, but a comprehensive method for healing. Dr Carl Wickland, a pioneering psychiatrist, documented his extensive work with spirit attachment over decades of clinical experience. His research, along with the contributions of mystics and scientists such as Emmanuel Swedenborg, Edgar Cayce, and Professor James Hyslop, reinforces the reality of spirit attachment and its significance for mental and emotional health. Dr Wickland’s findings suggest that no treatment can be fully effective unless the spiritual body is also addressed, highlighting the critical importance of spirit release in therapeutic practice.
Modern practitioners, such as William Baldwin, Irene Hickman, and Dr. Charles Tramont, have refined these techniques, creating effective methods for spirit release. This course, taught by an expert trained in the Hickman method and a close associate of Dr Tramont, will guide you through the practical application of hypnotic spirit release therapy.
This course is based on the teachings of Dr. Terence Palmer, whose aim was to make Spirit Release Therapy more acceptable within mainstream therapeutic practices. Dr. Palmer’s work continues to inspire this field, and while he sadly passed away in 2022, his legacy lives on through his contributions to the practice and understanding of Spirit Release Therapy.
