Advanced Training

Aims

Having listened to your feedback, we created these short courses recognising that once qualified many people seek to expand their knowledge without having to submit for examination. These non-examinable short courses are designed to enhance your skill and efficacy as a therapist as you gain advanced practical skills whilst at the same time providing you with an insightful exploration of relevant theoretical background. Usually taking place over three monthly weekends, these courses provide you with an in-depth exploration of specific complex symptoms and advanced techniques. You will receive a certificate of achievement at the end of the course as long as you have 100% attendance.

Course work

You will be provided with comprehensive weekend workbooks that deliver the core learnings of the course and contain strategies, theoretical background, hypnosis scripts, references and appendices. In addition, you are also encouraged to carry out wider reading of relevant books and journal articles to broaden your knowledge beyond the course materials.

Tutorials

These are optional and you can arrange one or more with individual course lecturers on an ad hoc basis. Such tutorials can provide you with a more personal understanding of the subject whilst allowing you to explore how the approaches being taught could be applied to patients you are currently treating (please note that this does not count as clinical supervision).

Advanced Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy

You can gain this award if you are a qualified hypnotherapist who has successfully completed any four LCCH International Professional Advanced Courses. The award is conferred after you have successfully submitted and passed a 5000 word written assessment. The title of this assessment will be agreed with you and our Director of Studies, and will be based on your preferred area of specialist interest as it relates to the courses you have taken.

This benchmark award recognises your extensive advanced level of practical and theoretical training. It demonstrates your ability to engage with and effectively treat complex issues presenting for hypnotherapy. This award also demonstrates your ability to compassionately engage with sensitive ethical issues that can sometimes accompany the effective treatment of such challenging symptoms.

When you are awarded the APDCH you can apply for full membership of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis.

These advanced courses are open to you if you are a hypnotherapy professional who is qualified to practice (evidence of qualifications should be provided when applying).
